Driving Safety Course *Juveniles must appear in open court
You must request by certified mail or in person on or before your appearance date in order to take a Driving Safety Course to dismiss a citation.

Requirements: (TEXAS RESIDENTS ONLY)
You must have a valid Texas Driver’s license
Your violation must have been a moving violation;
Speeding violations must have been less than 25 miles over posted speed;
Must not have completed a course in the past 12 months provide affidavit; and
You must have proof of liability insurance.
Enter a plea of No Contest/ or Guilty
Pay Court Costs fee $144.00 ($169.00 for school zone violations)
Obtain your driving record from DPS (information will be provided)
Complete your Driving Safety Course and return certificate of Completion within 90 days.
Reasons you are NOT ELIGIBLE for DSC
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Speeding over 25 mph over the speed limit, or in excess of 95 mph
Leaving the scene of an accident
Passing a School Bus
Offense was committed in a construction zone with workers present
Please do not complete a driving safety course until AFTER you have requested through the court.
