Whitesboro’s City Council consists of the Mayor and five Aldermen who are elected at-large by the voters and serve two-year staggered terms. The City Council decides which of its members will serve as Mayor Pro Tem. The Mayor Pro Tem holds the responsibility of calling the meetings in the absence of the Mayor. Council members are elected in May of each year. Enquiries about the election can be addressed by city staff or email for information at firstname.lastname@example.org.

City Council meets the second Tuesday of every month at Whitesboro City Hall Council Chambers, 111 West Main Street. Meetings begin at 7:00PM. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend City Council meetings. The meetings are posted 72 hours prior to each meeting on the bulletin board at City Hall and this website. All meetings are subject to Open Meetings Act and the Open Records Act.
If you would like to be scheduled to address the Council at a City Council meeting, call the City Secretary’s office at (903)564-3311 no later than the Tuesday prior to the meeting. If you have a disability and need auxiliary aids or services, please notify the City of Whitesboro at least 48 hours in advance of when services are needed.
